Recent figures indicate the direction in which the wind is blowing, almost as though it had a premonition of the things to come. Outsourcing activity picked up speed in the private sector in the UK, with 15 percent more contracts being signed in the last three months of 2011 alone than in entire 2010. Obviously, larger volumes of work were being outsourced since the total value of these contracts was 40 percent higher than the preceding year.
Similarly, Europe seems to have taken to outsourcing in a big way, if recent figures are anything to go by. Latest figures on the Information Services Group's (ISG) TPI index showed an interesting trend. Europe spent a whopping 27 percent more on IT and BPO outsourcing in 2011 than what it did even in 2010. On the whole, European outsourcing contracts crossed ?4bn in 2011, out of which BPO and IT contracts alone were estimated to be over ?0m. What's more, the year 2011 also saw Europe grabbing 60 percent of the total global outsourcing contract value, with as many as 8 out of 10 camisetas futbol replica mega contracts valued at over ?00m in Europe alone.
